Munish Sharma calls on LG Manoj Sinha, raises key developmental, educational & employment issues

Jammu, 31 January 2026:
Senior leader and Former State General Secretary of Jammu & Kashmir BJP, Munish Sharma, today called on the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, at Lok Bhavan, Jammu.

During the meeting, Munish Sharma held comprehensive and in-depth discussions with the Lieutenant Governor on the prevailing political and security situation in Jammu & Kashmir. He lauded the decisive and visionary leadership of the Hon’ble LG, appreciating his relentless efforts in maintaining peace, strengthening the security architecture, and ensuring speedy and inclusive development across the Union Territory.

Sharma strongly advocated for the establishment of a National Law University (NLU) in Jammu region along with Kashmir region, highlighting the long-standing demand of the region and the need to strengthen legal education infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir. He emphasized that the presence of an NLU in Jammu would not only bridge regional imbalance but also empower local youth with world-class legal education, promote research, and strengthen the justice delivery ecosystem in J&K.

Raising concerns over unemployment, the BJP leader forcefully urged for fast-track recruitment against vacancies already referred to JKSSB and JKPSC. He underlined that timely recruitment is crucial for youth empowerment, administrative efficiency, and public service delivery, especially at a time when young aspirants are looking towards the government with high expectations.

Another major issue highlighted during the meeting was the proposal to establish a state-of-the-art museum dedicated to Mata Vaishno Devi at Katra. Munish Sharma said that such a museum would preserve and showcase the spiritual, cultural, and historical legacy of Mata Vaishno Devi, while also emerging as a major attraction for pilgrims and tourists, thereby boosting religious tourism and the local economy.

He also reiterated the need for balanced regional development, infrastructure expansion, and sustained engagement with public representatives to further strengthen people’s faith in governance.

The Lieutenant Governor gave a patient and attentive hearing to all the issues raised and assured that the administration remains firmly committed to inclusive development, employment generation, youth welfare, and strengthening educational, cultural, and spiritual institutions in Jammu & Kashmir.
