LG approves three key bills, marking a new beginning for administrative and social reforms in Jammu and Kashmir

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has approved three important bills passed during the budget session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly. These bills were approved on March 31, 2026, and the information was officially announced in the Assembly on Thursday afternoon.
Assembly Secretary Manoj Kumar Pandit informed the House that the Lieutenant Governor had approved these bills. He read out the official notification regarding their approval in the House, paving the way for the bills to become law.
The approved bills include the Jammu and Kashmir Public Trust Amendment Bill, 2026, the Bill to Eliminate Discrimination against Persons Affected by Leprosy, and the Jammu and Kashmir State Civil Courts Amendment Bill, 2026. These three bills are considered important for bringing about reforms in various areas.
The Public Trust Amendment Bill emphasizes simplifying and making administrative processes transparent, which is expected to provide relief to the public from delays and complexities in government work. The bill eliminating discrimination against persons affected by leprosy is considered a major step towards social justice, playing a crucial role in ensuring equality and respect in society.

In addition, the State Civil Courts Amendment Bill aims to make the judicial process more effective and faster, ensuring timely justice for ordinary citizens.

The implementation of these bills is expected to strengthen administrative reforms, social inclusion, and the judicial system in Jammu and Kashmir. The government believes that these steps will promote good governance in the state and bring positive changes to the lives of the common people.
