‘Uncivil, Uncultured’: BJP Hits Out at RJD After PM Modi’s Mother Insulted in Bihar Rally Again

A major controversy erupted in poll-bound Bihar as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) slammed the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother was allegedly insulted at a rally in Mahua assembly constituency.

BJP IT Department chief Amit Malviya alleged that “extremely derogatory words” were used against PM Modi’s mother at a RJD rally. He accused Tejashwi Yadav of complicity, stating that the opposition leader was present on stage but made “no effort to stop his supporters” from using the offensive language.

He referred to the pattern as “uncivil” and “uncultured” politics by the opposition. Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary and BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawalla also condemned the incident.

The leaders also referenced a previous incident where Congress has released an AI-generated video to imagine a conversation between PM Modi and his later mother, calling it “disgusting.” A man was also arrested in Bihar’s Darbhanga for making objectionable remarks against PM’s mother at a Congress-RJS event.

Speaking on the issue, PM Modi, earlier this month, said that he was deeply pained by the hurling of abuses at his mother during Congress’ recently concluded ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar, and asserted that although he may forgive RJD and the grand old party but people of the eastern state would never pardon them.

“My mother had nothing to do with politics, so what was her fault; why was she abused?” he wondered.

“People who hurl abuses at mothers have the mindset that women are weak. Hurling of abuses at my mother was an insult to the daughters and sisters of Bihar,” he asserted.

He said that Bihar’s NDA government, headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has always worked for the empowerment of women.
