In a major action in the case involving Jammu and Kashmir’s infamous DSP Davinder Singh and the Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist nexus, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has seized two properties belonging to accused Shaheen Ahmed Lone in the Kanispora area of Baramulla. This action comes as part of an ongoing campaign against the network that provides illegal weapons and financial support to terrorists.
According to official sources, the seized properties include two plots measuring 7.5 marlas and 6 marlas. Shaheen Ahmed Lone is one of the key accused in the case and is currently lodged in Tihar Jail.
NIA officials stated that the seizure of the properties was based on an order issued by the Jammu-based special NIA court on April 30, 2026. This action has been taken under Section 33(1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), 1967.
According to the investigating agency, this case involves an alleged network of the terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen and Pakistani intelligence agencies to promote terrorist activities in India. The NIA is investigating the financial and logistical support system of this entire network.
It is noteworthy that this case made national headlines in 2020 when the then-DSP, Devinder Singh, was arrested with Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists. Subsequently, the NIA took over the investigation and took action against several accused.
The NIA states that action against the properties of individuals involved in terrorism-related cases will continue and that anyone providing any kind of support to terrorist networks will be brought to justice.
