DC reviews progress on implementation of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in Poonch

POONCH: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Poonch, Vikas Kundal today chaired a meeting here in the Meeting Hall of DC Office complex to assess the implementation & progress of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in the district.

At the outset, the Executive Engineer of Electric division JPDCL Poonch briefed a detailed PowerPoint presentation outlining the scheme’s objectives and benefits. It was informed that 572 applications have been received on the portal out of which 310 applications were accepted, 29 units have been installed and 48 units installations are under progress till date. It was further informed that as per J&K Bank out of 73 applicants, 10 have successfully availed bank loans for the scheme

The DC directed the vendors to start the installation of Solar Rooftop Systems (SRTs) for sanctioned applicants in a paced manner.

Emphasizing the importance of public awareness and participation, the DC directed the Executive Engineer, JPDCL, to actively engage stakeholders and sensitize them about the scheme’s benefits and incentives.

The initiative aims to facilitate consumers in availing the benefits of the government’s solar energy scheme, promoting clean and sustainable energy solutions in the region. DC Vikas Kundal stressed the need for collaborative efforts to ensure maximum outreach and successful implementation of the scheme across the district.

The meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer JPDCL, Executive Engineer JPDCL, LDM J&K Banks, Cluster Heads J&K Banks, AEEs, and other concerned officials.
