Samba police recover 55 sacks of polythene bags weighing about 1500 kg

Samba: Samba Police has recovered 55 Sacks of banned Polythene bags in the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba which were being illegally transported in a vehicle.

Acting on reliable information, a Police Party headed by SHO Police Station Samba intercepted a vehicle bearing Regd No. JK02BP-2521 at SIDCO Chowk Samba which was coming from Kathua side and was driven by driver namely Rajan Kumar S/o Takbir Kumar R/o Pathankot (Punjab).

During checking of the said vehicle, 55 sacks of polythene bags weighing about 1500 Kgs concealed tactfully beneath empty carton boxes were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission.

In this regard, the matter has been taken up with District Pollution Control Board, Samba for further legal proceedings at their end.
