JAMMU: In a determined move against drug trafficking, Police Station Nagrota, achieved another success by arresting two drug peddlers and recovering 18.40 kg of poppy straw-like substance.
The accused have been identified as—Hardev Singh S/O Farseem Singh R/O Piani Mian Khan Gurdaspur Punjab and Mandeep Singh S/O Gurdyal Singh, R/O Karchowal District Gurdaspur Punjab.
The operation also led to the seizure of an Truck bearing registration number NL03AA/7721 which was being used to transport the contraband.
Today, during routine checking at naka Ban Toll Plaza Nagrota one truck bearing registration number NL03AA/7721 was seen coming from Udhampur towards Jammu. During checking of said truck 18.40 kg of Poppy straw like substance recovered, which was hidden behined the toll box of said truck. Both the accused were taken into custody on the spot.
FIR No. 167/2025 has been registered at Police Station Nagrota under the relevant sections 8, 15 and 29 of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is underway to trace the source of the contraband and identify any links to a larger drug network.
