Kathua resonates with patriotism on Day 6 of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign

Tiranga rallies, cultural events, Swachhata drives and community participation mark district-wide celebrations

KATHUA, AUGUST 07: Day 6 of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in District Kathua witnessed widespread participation and a strong display of patriotism through various activities conducted across schools, municipal wards, and panchayats.

At GHSS Dhar Dugnoo, a Tiranga Rally and Human Chain formation saw the participation of students, staff, and local representatives in a vibrant show of unity. Hundreds of students proudly held the tricolour, symbolising the spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.

A Mega Rakhi Competition was organised at GHSS Budhi, where students from cluster schools created tricolour-themed rakhis and tied them to a model of the BRAHMOS missile, blending tradition with national pride. Similarly, GMS Sulladi, Mahanpur held a Rakhi Making Activity where students expressed their love and respect for the nation through handcrafted rakhis.

GHSS Mahanpur hosted a Quiz Competition on the theme “Hamara Samvidhan, Hamara Swabhiman” to deepen students’ understanding of the Constitution and promote democratic values.

Swachhata Drives were organised under the Har Ghar Swachhata banner at Pyt Ghar Marapatti and by the Municipal Committees of Kathua and Lakhanpur. Sanitation workers, local residents, and youth volunteers cleaned public spaces and raised awareness on hygiene and civic responsibility.

Anganwadi Centres under POSHAN Project Billawar conducted patriotic activities such as Tiranga art, flag distribution, and storytelling sessions, fostering early engagement with the spirit of Independence.

Across municipal wards and panchayats, activities including flag hoisting, patriotic song competitions, plantation drives, painting events, and door-to-door awareness campaigns further enhanced community involvement. PRI representatives, schoolchildren, and volunteers actively participated, turning the campaign into a people-driven movement.

The campaign continues to gain momentum, reflecting the district’s collective commitment to celebrate Independence Day 2025 with pride, unity and participation.
