Security agencies have achieved a major success in Srinagar, busting an active module linked to the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. A total of five accused, including two Pakistani terrorists, were arrested in this operation and a local court remanded them to 10-day police custody.

The arrested terrorists include the main accused, Abdullah alias Abu Huraira, who had been absconding for the past 16 years. Investigations have revealed that Huraira led the entire module and had established hideouts in Jammu and Kashmir as well as other parts of the country.

According to security agencies, another Pakistani terrorist, Usman alias Khubaib, has also been apprehended along with Huraira. In addition, three local associates from Srinagar—Mohammad Naqib Bhat, Adil Rashid Bhat, and Ghulam Mohammad Mir alias Mama—have also been detained. They were operating as part of an organized network.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that this module was active interstate and was planning to establish an espionage network and carry out terrorist activities. Agencies are now thoroughly investigating their funding patterns, contact sources, and possible hideouts.

Officials say that the interrogation is expected to yield significant revelations, which could lead to the identification and arrest of other suspects. Currently, security agencies are conducting continuous raids and search operations to dismantle the entire network.

This action is considered a significant step in the ongoing campaign against terrorism in the Valley, potentially thwarting future plots for major attacks.
