People suffering from days of intense heat and humidity found great relief on Wednesday when rainfall in the Basohli and Bilawar regions completely transformed the weather. Around 3 PM, dark clouds suddenly gathered, accompanied by strong, cool winds. Shortly thereafter, the rain cooled the atmosphere, offering relief from the sweltering heat.
As the weather turned pleasant in Basohli market and surrounding rural areas, people’s faces lit up with joy. A drop in temperature was recorded due to the rain and cool winds, allowing residents—who had been battling heat and humidity for a long time—to breathe a sigh of relief. Many were seen stepping out of their homes and shops to enjoy the weather. By evening, parks, roads, and open spaces were bustling with activity.
The most positive impact of the rain was seen among the farmers. Welcoming the change in weather, they noted that the rainfall would prove highly beneficial for paddy cultivation. Farmers in several villages across the region have begun ploughing their fields and preparing for paddy transplantation. They believe this timely rain is an auspicious sign for agricultural activities and will give the crops a strong start.
The light-to-moderate rainfall also settled much of the airborne dust, making the air feel cleaner and fresher. Residents remarked that after a long spell of heat, this rain felt like a welcome gift.
Meanwhile, the Bilawar region had also been experiencing intense sunshine and hot winds since Wednesday morning. However, the weather took a sudden turn in the afternoon, bringing heavy rain to both hilly and plain areas. Torrential rainfall was recorded in Bilawar, Baggan, Kishanpur, Kafla, Sukrala Devi, Ghat, Machedi, Katli, and several surrounding areas. The rain made the weather thoroughly pleasant, bringing people relief from the scorching heat.
With the weather turning favorable, a large number of people stepped out for an evening stroll. Children and young people alike thoroughly enjoyed the cool weather. Meanwhile, farmers have intensified agricultural activities in their fields.
According to weather experts, cloudy conditions are likely to persist in the region over the coming days. Experts state that if this weather pattern continues, temperatures could remain below normal, offering continued relief from the heat.
Currently, the weather remains pleasant in Basohli, Billawar, and the surrounding areas. While the rain and cool breezes have brought relief to the general public, this weather has also ushered in a ray of hope for farmers. This delightful change in the weather has created an atmosphere of happiness and enthusiasm among the people of the region.
