Block Diwas: Public Grievances redressal camp held at Chak Desa Choudharian in Marheen block

KATHUA: As part of Block Diwas, a public outreach Programme was held at village Banyari of Panchayat Chak Desa Choudhrian block Marheen today.
MLA Hiranagar Vijay Sharma; Deputy Commissioner Kathua Dr Rakesh Minhas; DDC Marheen Karan Attri, Ex-PRI members, District and Sectoral officers besides a large number of people attended the programme.


Scores of individuals and deputations including Ex-PRI members projected demands and apprised the District Administration about the problems faced by the inhabitants of their respective areas.


The people highlighted varied demands seeking provision of Borewell, augmentation of Flood Protection infrastructure, provision of Veterinary dispensary, early completion of GHSS Kana Chack building, better road connectivity, provision of drinking water supply in uncovered areas and other amenities etc.


The other main issues highlighted during the programme included the opening of Lavatory complex in Banyari, early completion of Bridge on Chhabe Chack road, improvement of road connectivity in Mathre Chack area.


MLA Hiranagar also highlighted the issue of smooth access to the farmers for cultivation near the International Border in Hiranagar sector. He assured that sanctioning of Rs 76 lac for completion of GHSS Kana Chack will be taken up at appropriate forum. He also called for regulating the unscheduled power cuts in border areas.


Addressing the gathering, the DC said the objective of holding Public Outreach Programme under Block Diwas is to reach out to the people and listen to their grievances besides extending arrays of services and knowledge about different government schemes at their doorsteps.


The DC said district administration has rolled out a baseline survey cum awareness campaign under Mission YUVA which provides collateral free loans for small to medium size businesses as per the requirements of the beneficiaries in line with the objective of promoting entrepreneurship especially among youngsters.


Responding to the demands of people, the DC passed on spot instructions to the concerned departments for time bound resolution of all the issues. He stressed upon the officers to prioritize the grievances.
