DODA: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Harvinder Singh formally announced the launch of D.S.T Production’s upcoming film “Malaang” during an event held at the Conference Hall, Doda. The film aims to raise awareness about the pressing issue of drug abuse among the youth while celebrating the rich cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
During the event, the DC emphasising the importance of utilising cinema as a powerful medium to address societal issues. He commended the efforts of the production team in bringing a meaningful initiative to life, highlighting the administration’s support for projects that promote positive social change. The Deputy Commissioner’s participation added weight to the event, reflecting the district’s commitment to combating drug abuse and fostering youth engagement.
The production team shared details about the film’s audition process, which included cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Jammu and Kishtwar, culminating in the final round held in Doda on the same day. Aspiring actors from the region enthusiastically participated, demonstrating their talent and enthusiasm to contribute to both the film industry and the social awareness campaign.
“Malaang” is set to address the challenges of drug addiction while portraying the vibrant traditions and culture of Jammu and Kashmir. The announcement garnered significant attention from the local community and youth, who expressed their excitement and support for the initiative.
