DODA: The 71st Cooperative Week was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Town Hall Doda, here today.
The event, organized by the Cooperative Department, witnessed active participation of officers and officials, cooperative society members and the general public.
Additional District Development Commissioner, Pran Singh was the chief guest while Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sudarshan Kumar was guest of honour on the occasion.
Other prominent attendees included Executive Officer Municipal Committee, Ravi Kumar and Deputy Registrar Cooperative Society (Agriculture), Vishal Deep Chauhan.
Speaking on the occasion, ADDC emphasized the importance of cooperatives in driving community development and encouraged society members to explore innovative ways to expand their reach and impact.
The Cooperative Week, observed annually from November 14 to 20, is aimed at promoting the cooperative movement and recognizing its contribution to society.
The event commenced with the inspection of stalls set up by various cooperative societies, followed by the lighting of ceremonial lamp and singing of the National Anthem.
Series of activities like debates and cultural performances were held as part of the week to highlight the cooperative sector’s role in fostering socio-economic growth.
Secretaries and members of several cooperative societies from across the district actively participated in the celebrations, showcasing their achievements and initiatives.
