Former Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has urged Union Health Minister J. P. Nadda to expedite the ongoing construction work at AIIMS Awantipora and ensure that the project is completed without further delay.
In a post on X, Mehbooba Mufti said that she spoke with the Union Health Minister and requested him to accelerate the pace of work at AIIMS Awantipora. According to her, Nadda assured her that the project would be completed on time.
Highlighting the importance of the institution, Mufti said that while the team working on the project is putting in relentless efforts day and night, the deteriorating healthcare situation in Jammu & Kashmir makes it imperative for AIIMS Awantipora to become operational as soon as possible.
She added that the premier medical institute will provide much-needed relief to patients and significantly improve the quality of healthcare services across the region. The completion of AIIMS Awantipora is expected to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure of South Kashmir and benefit thousands of residents in the Union Territory.
