The administration and traffic police are fully alert for the Jammu Marathon 2026, which is scheduled to be held in Jammu city. Due to this major event, traffic arrangements will be altered in several major areas of the city on Sunday morning. According to a police advisory, traffic will be restricted or completely closed on several routes from 5 am to 11 am.
The marathon route will pass through busy areas of the city, including areas such as MA Stadium, Jewel Chowk, Bhagat Singh Chowk, Raghunath Temple, City Chowk, Shalimar Road, Indira Chowk, KC Crossing, Rehari, Ambphalla, Manda, Amar Mahal, Karan Nagar, Jail Road, Radio Station, Atal Chowk, Tawi Bridge, and Bahu Plaza. Traffic will be controlled in these areas during this period to ensure the safety of the runners.
In view of the traffic disruptions, the traffic police have advised people to take alternative routes. Vehicles traveling north, especially those traveling to the railway station, airport, or Kunjwani, have been advised to use the Kel Head, Belicharana, and Satwari routes. The same routes have been designated for vehicles traveling south.

Light vehicles coming from Nagrota and Sidhra will also be diverted during the designated time. The administration says that while this may cause some inconvenience, this step is necessary to ensure a safe and successful event.
The traffic police have appealed to city residents for cooperation, urging them to plan their travels in advance, avoid unnecessary outings, and follow the instructions of the police officers on duty. This will not only maintain order but also ensure the smooth conduct of the marathon.
