MLA Ramban leads “Swachhtantra” Sanitation Drive ahead of Republic Day

RAMBAN: In a significant initiative to promote cleanliness and patriotism, MLA Ramban Arjun Singh Raju today led a special sanitation drive themed “Swachhtantra – Gantantra Ki Shaan, Swachhta Se Bane Mahaan.”

The drive, aligning with the spirit of Republic Day, aims to underscore the importance of cleanliness as a fundamental pillar of national progress and development.

Republic Day marks the adoption of the Indian Constitution and celebrates values such as justice, equality, and responsibility. Cleanliness, being central to these principles, was highlighted as a collective responsibility of every citizen. The sanitation drive was envisioned as a community-driven initiative to inspire action towards a cleaner and healthier environment across Jammu & Kashmir.

The campaign, organised by the Municipal Council Ramban under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary, included special sanitation activities in and around District Hospital Ramban and other health institutions. These efforts brought together various sections of society, including local citizens, Swachhta ambassadors, hospital staff, and attendants. The participants showcased great enthusiasm and solidarity in making the event a success.

Prominent officials present on the occasion included Chief Medical Officer Dr Kamal Ji Zadu; Medical Superintendent District Hospital Vrinder Trishal; CEO Municipal Committee Sudarshan Jamwal and other district officers, health workers, and prominent citizens. Their active participation reinforced the significance of collaborative efforts in achieving the vision of a clean and healthy Ramban.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Arjun Singh Raju emphasized the critical role of cleanliness in achieving the ideals enshrined in the Constitution. He urged citizens to adopt cleanliness as a way of life and contribute to making Ramban a model district in terms of hygiene and sustainable practices.

The event concluded with a collective pledge to uphold cleanliness and work towards a healthier environment, reflecting the true spirit of “Swachhtantra.” The campaign is expected to inspire further community participation in cleanliness initiatives throughout the district.
