ABSCONDER EVADING ARREST SINCE 2020, ARRESTED BY POLICE STATION BISHNAH,JAMMU

Jammu: In continuation to its drive against the absconders, Jammu Police apprehended an absconder who was wanted in a case FIR No 176/20 U/S 379 IPC registered at Police Station Bishnah.

A Police team of PS Bishnah led by *SHO PS Bishnah under the supervision of SDPO R S Pura and SP headquarters succeeded in apprehending the absconder namely
Deepak Kumar S/O Yash Pal R/o Tanda Tehsil R.S.Pura District Jammu,who was absconding and evading his arrest since 2020 after the commission of the crime.

Accordingly, the said absconder will be produced in the court of law and the arrest warrant u/s 299 BNSS issued against him will be executed.

SRINAGAR:- In order to ensure timely completion of verification and scanning of revenue related records in District, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today undertook visit of District Record Room and Central Record Room Complex Bemina.


During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Regional Director Survey & Land Records, Nazir Ahmad Khawja, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Khalid Hussain Malik, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Aijaz Ahmad Shah, Tehsildar South, Sajad Rasool Shah and other field functionaries of Revenue Department.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the progress of verification and scanning of revenue records under implementation of Land Records Modernization Programme.


The DC was informed that the process with regard to scanning, preservation of revenue documents, data entry of latest Jamabandi and updation with latest mutation records besides digitization of maps with latest data is going on at a fast pace.


While interacting with the Revenue functionaries, the DC stressed them to complete the task of digitization of records in a time bound manner to ensure better land record management, minimize land disputes and enhance the overall land record maintenance system in the District.


The DC exhorted upon the Officers to adhere to the timeline of settlement targets and contribute in the preparation of reliable revenue records.

World Toilet Day: Shopian District prepares for Sanitation Overhaul

SHOPIAN: To commemorate ‘World Toilet Day,’ the District Administration Shopian has initiated efforts to identify and bridge gaps in sanitation infrastructure across the district.
In this connection, a meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar at Mini Secretariat, Shopian to finalise measures for celebration of the day, along with bridging the gaps of maintenance and renovation of both individual toilet units and community sanitary complexes.


Meeting discussed the means to improve sanitation facilities, hygiene practices, identify and address gaps in existing sanitation infrastructure and enhance community awareness about the importance of sanitation and hygiene.


During the campaign, conducting sanitation surveys to identify areas lacking adequate toilet facilities shall be undertaken from November 19 to December 10.
Upgrading and renovating existing toilet infrastructure in public spaces, schools, AWW centres and healthcare facilities shall be prioritised under the program, apprised DPO Shopian.


Constructing new toilets in identified areas, with a focus on rural and underserved communities and implementing waste management systems to ensure proper disposal of waste shall also be focused, called DC on officers.


The DC instructed for organizing awareness campaigns to promote proper hygiene practices and sanitation habits by stakeholders.

DC Shopian reviews Mining Activities & Enforcement Measures against illegal mining

SHOPIAN: To facilitate and regulate mining activities without compromising on ensuring compliance with environmental norms, the District Level Task Force Cell, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar today met at Mini Secretariat, Shopian.


The meeting convened by the DC focused on several key issues, including the compliance to environmental norms by mining lessees and the prevention of illegal mining in the district.
The multi-department task force deliberated on vital approaches to monitor mining practices in the district.


On the occasion, reviewing the clearance of leases for their non involvement in illegal mining, the DC instructed DMO to prepare and submit reports before further action on the matter.
The DC on the occasion asked for taking strictest measures against persons and vehicles involved in illegal mining.


The meeting was attended by ADDC, Dr Nasir Ahmad Lone; ACR, DMO, DFO, DIO and others.

DC Kupwara reviews functioning of Kisan Khidmat Ghars

KUPWARA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan on Monday took a comprehensive review of operational effectiveness of the Kisan Khidmat Ghars (KKGs) in a meeting held at D.C Office Kupwara.


The meeting was informed that out of 177 Kisan Khidmat Ghars to be established in the district, 47 KKGs have been established in the first Phase and rest will be covered in two consecutive phases.


These KKGs, set up as key support hubs for local farmers, aim to improve access to resources, streamline operations, and provide essential agricultural services.
Addressing the meeting, the DC impressed upon the Krishi Udyamis (KUs) running these KKGs to make specialized service as their golden motive so as to facilitate the farmer community of the district in availing benefits under various government sponsored schemes.
She asked the Chief Agriculture Officer to onboard the KUs in Kissan Sampark Abhiyan so that the people get awareness about the role of Kisan Khidmat Ghars and benefit in large.
The DC also interacted with the Krishi Udyamis who provided their feedback about the functioning of their KKGs on the ground.


The KKG initiative aligns with broader government efforts to strengthen rural agricultural infrastructure, aiming to boost productivity and support the livelihood of the district’s farming community.


Among others, ADDC Kupwara, Gulzar Ahmad Bhat; Chief Agriculture Officer, CPO, CHO, CAHO, DSHO, besides, Krishi Udyamis attended the meeting.

DC Ganderbal reviews security measures of key projects

GANDERBAL: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir chaired a meeting today to review the security measures implemented by executing agencies for the welfare and safety of workers engaged in various ongoing infrastructure projects across the district.
The meeting was attended by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ganderbal, Raghav S, and representatives of key executing agencies including APCO, Meil, NPCC, and RIPL, NBCC and COMT constructions.


During the review, the DC and SSP assessed the security protocols and interventions in place at project sites and residential colonies of workers.


The DC issued a series of directives aimed at bolstering security measures, including installation of high-mast lights and CCTV surveillance systems, construction of watchtowers tailored to the topography of project sites, maintenance of visitor registers at entry points, fencing of residential colonies to restrict unauthorized access.


He also emphasized the importance of worker safety and directed the executing agencies to ensure all workers are insured.


The SSP also directed for strengthening access control systems at project sites and installation of CCTV cameras in rented accommodations housing workers.
Reiterating the administration’s commitment to providing a secure environment, the DC directed for close coordination with the concerned SHO and said that the district administration, in collaboration with security agencies, is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all workers involved in developmental projects.


The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to maintain high security standards and foster a safe working environment in the district.

SHOPIAN: A Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) meeting was held today at Mini Secretariat Shopian to discuss the utilization of Hospital Development Fund (HDF) and Ayushman Bharat Saving funds for various proposals aimed at hospital upgradation and service effectiveness in District Hospital.


The meeting was jointly chaired by DDC Chairperson, Bilqees Jan; MLA Shopian, Shabir Ahmad Kullay and District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar.
The RKS, a hospital-based governing body committee, plays a crucial role in managing the affairs of health facilities and promoting accountability amongst service providers.
During the meeting, several proposals including new upgrades of machinery in the Laboratory, MRD, Dentistry, Radiology, ENT, Physiotherapy, dialysis and Ophthalmology sections were approved to enhance the healthcare infrastructure in the hospital.
The approved proposals also included renovation of washrooms, installation of CCTVs, heating provisions and other requirements of hospital quality control and sanitation.
Renovation and expansion of existing hospital buildings and acquisition of modern medical equipment, office equipment were emphasised upon by DDC Shopian and approved along with emphasising on conducting annual maintenance contracts.


DDC Chairperson and MLA Shopian stressed upon improving service effectiveness including provision of quality care, improving patient satisfaction and experience, and strengthening community involvement in healthcare decision-making.


The RKS meeting is a significant step towards ensuring that the healthcare needs of the community are met, and the approved proposals will likely have a positive impact on the healthcare services in Shopian.

DC attends 71st Cooperative week celebrations in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: The 71st Cooperative week celebrations were observed with great enthusiasm in Udhampur, with Deputy Commissioner Saloni Rai as the chief guest.
The event, organized by the Cooperative Department, witnessed participation from Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies, Nishtha Nayyar, Chairman of Devika Urban Cooperative Bank, Hans Raj Sharma, Founder of Ex-Serviceman Cooperative Society and general public of Udhampur town.


During the event, DC presented a cheque of Rs. 20,000 to Sudh Mahadev Honey Producer Cooperative, acknowledging their efforts in honey production and sales facilitated by Alliance Women Multi-purpose Cooperative Ltd. The DC also distributed mementos to the winners of painting competition and motivated them to contribute creatively to the cooperative movement.


Deputy Registrar Cooperative during welcome address highlighted pivotal role of cooperatives in empowering people and contributing towards the vision of a prosperous and developed India. She elaborated on various initiatives undertaken by cooperative societies in the district to strengthen livelihoods and promote self-reliance.


The event featured an exhibition of stalls set up by various cooperative societies, showcasing a wide range of products, including honey, handicrafts, and agricultural produce.
