A tragic road accident in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday morning shocked the entire area. An Eco car (number JK19A-4098) traveling from Mahaur to Gul suddenly lost control and fell into a deep ditch near the Ramakunda turn. The accident was so horrific that three people died on the spot, while five others were seriously injured.
Locals show bravery
Immediately after the accident, nearby villagers and passersby rushed to the scene and began rescue operations. Upon receiving information, a police team also arrived at the scene and, along with locals, pulled the injured out of the ditch. All the injured were immediately rushed to the District Hospital, Reasi, where they are undergoing treatment.
High speed and a dangerous turn were the cause of the accident.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle was speeding and the driver lost control at a dangerous turn in Ramakunda, causing it to plunge straight into a ditch. Police have registered a case and a detailed investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
Wave of mourning in the area
Following this tragic incident, the entire area is in mourning. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased and gather other information. The administration has appealed to the public to exercise extreme caution while driving on mountain roads, especially controlling speed on dangerous turns.
