REASI: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Vishesh Mahajan on Tuesday inaugurated a two-day mock drill on landslide and earthquake management being conducted by the 13th Battalion of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
The Mock Drill simulates disaster scenarios like Hospital Damage, Fire incidents evaluating response strategies, and discussing solutions with district officials to enhance the region’s disaster preparedness.
DC Vishesh Mahajan emphasized the need to conduct such drills on a larger scale, involving the public to strengthen community resilience. He also urged the NDRF to integrate advanced technologies like drones and early detection models to bolster disaster management capabilities.He also urged the NDRF team to provide proper SOP guidelines regarding such programs which can be distributed to people.
The DC highlighted that Reasi is working on various disaster management initiatives like Fire balls for fire incidents, landslide mitigations, increasing its disaster preparedness.
The event was attended by SSP Anita Sharma, Commandant IRP Reasi, ADC Kulbushan Khajuria, Assistant Commandant (NDRF) Javed Iqbal, officials from CISF, CRPF and others.
