Re-NEET 2026: High alert in Jammu for exam, tight security arrangements at 27 centers

JNM journalist Hardeep Jamwal, Jammu

Extensive preparations have been completed in Jammu and Kashmir for the re-NEET 2026 exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Approximately 50,000 candidates from across the state will appear in this re-examination after the paper leak controversy. To ensure fair and transparent conduct of the exam, the administration has strengthened security arrangements to an unprecedented level.
A total of 27 examination centers have been designated for the re-NEET exam in Jammu district. Senior officials from the district administration, police department, and education department are continuously reviewing the examination arrangements. Officials say that all centers will be monitored through CCTV cameras and adequate security forces will be deployed.
New admit cards for the re-NEET exam have been issued by the NTA. Examination centers have also been changed for many students. In such a situation, candidates have been advised to recheck their admit cards and obtain information about the new exam center in advance to avoid any inconvenience on exam day.

The administration has also made special arrangements for traffic management around the exam centers. According to officials, security, surveillance, and other necessary facilities have been finalized at all centers. Special monitoring teams have also been formed to ensure the exam is conducted in a peaceful and fair environment.

Candidates have been urged to arrive at the exam center before the scheduled time and carry all necessary documents along with their admit cards. The administration has clarified that any negligence or irregularity in the examination process will not be tolerated.

It is noteworthy that the re-NEET exam is being conducted for the affected candidates following allegations of paper leaks in the previously conducted NEET exam. Therefore, to maintain the credibility of the exam, security and monitoring arrangements have been strengthened further than ever before.
