Forest Guard Caught Red-Handed Accepting ₹15,000 Bribe; Major Action by ACB

In a major operation conducted on Monday as part of its ongoing campaign against corruption, the Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a Forest Guard (Accountant) posted in the Marwah Forest Division, catching him red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹15,000.

According to ACB officials, a complaint had been received alleging that the accused employee had demanded a bribe. Upon receiving the complaint, the ACB initiated a preliminary inquiry into the matter; once the facts stated in the complaint were corroborated, a special trap operation was planned.

Executing the plan, the ACB team laid a trap and apprehended the accused employee on the spot—catching him red-handed—at the very moment he accepted the bribe of ₹15,000 from the complainant. During the operation, the entire bribe amount was also recovered from the possession of the accused.

Following the arrest, the ACB has registered a case against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Officials stated that all aspects related to the case are currently undergoing a thorough investigation, and further necessary legal action will be initiated based on the findings of this inquiry.

The ACB reiterated that corruption within government departments will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and strict action will continue to be taken against any officers or employees found to be involved in corrupt practices.
