There has been a stir in Ambedkar Nagar of UP due to 56 cases of kidnapping of girls being registered in the last one month. Police has recovered 49 of these girls, out of which 40 are minors. Superintendent of Police Keshav Kumar said that most of the cases are related to love affairs, and 5 cases are related to different communities.
Of these, three cases involve Hindu girls and Muslim accused, while two involve Hindu accused and Muslim girls. Legal action has been taken in all the cases.

Police clarification and action
Superintendent of Police Keshav Kumar clarified that no organized gang has been found involved in these cases. He said that out of 56 cases, 49 girls have been recovered, and action has been taken against the accused on the basis of evidence. Police say that most of the cases are related to love affairs, and no concrete evidence of inducement or forced conversion has been found in the investigation.
Outrage among Hindu organizations
Arvind Pandey, the Avadh province chief of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, called these incidents a part of love jihad. He alleged that a well-planned game of converting Hindu girls by trapping them in love traps is going on in the district. Hindu organizations have demanded strict action from the administration, due to which there is an atmosphere of tension in the district.
Politics started in the matter
MP Lalji Verma expressed concern over the increase in crimes against women and said that girls from weaker sections are being targeted. He demanded the government to strengthen the security system.
