Due to the shutdown, horse and palanquin services were unavailable on the Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra route, forcing many pilgrims to travel on foot. However, the pilgrimage officially continued, and pilgrims continued to proceed towards the temple.
Sangharsh Samiti leaders warned that if the ropeway project is not reconsidered, the agitation will be intensified. They have demanded that the administration and the Shrine Board initiate dialogue on the project while keeping local interests in mind.
Meanwhile, the administration is monitoring the situation to ensure law and order is maintained and pilgrims face minimal inconvenience. While the one-day shutdown is reported to have concluded peacefully, there are indications that the controversy over the ropeway will continue.
