MLA Sajjad Shaheen laid the foundation stone for a veterinary hospital and a new school building in Chaknarwah;

Banihal-Gool is rapidly progressing on the path of development and modernization;

Banihal, June 14: MLA Banihal-Gool Sajjad Shaheen today laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new veterinary hospital building and a new school building in Chaknarwah. Both buildings have been approved at a total cost of approximately ₹2.5 crore. This marks another major milestone in the ongoing development of the Banihal-Gool Assembly constituency.

The veterinary hospital building, being constructed under NABARD, estimated to cost ₹1 crore, and the new school infrastructure, estimated to cost ₹1.5 crore, will meet long-standing demands of the local population and significantly strengthen veterinary healthcare and educational facilities in the area.

Speaking on the occasion, Sajjad Shaheen said that Banihal-Gul is continuously progressing on the path of development and modernization, with an unprecedented focus on infrastructure development, public welfare, and strengthening essential services.

He said that under the dynamic leadership of Honorable Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the constituency is witnessing clear progress in many sectors. Several road projects have been approved to improve connectivity in remote areas and are either underway or nearing completion. The government has also prioritized upgrading and strengthening educational institutions, healthcare facilities, drinking water schemes, and other public infrastructure throughout the constituency.

The MLA stated that significant efforts are being made to enhance power infrastructure by upgrading receiving stations and improving the power distribution network, ensuring better power supply for the people. He further stated that the government is actively working on hydropower projects and other energy initiatives, which have significant potential for regional development and economic growth.

Sajjad Shaheen stated that significant investments are also being made to beautify and modernize major cities, including Banihal, to create better public spaces, improve civic amenities, and enhance the overall cityscape. He further stated that development initiatives are being undertaken across all sectors to ensure balanced and inclusive development across the constituency.

He said, “The foundation stones laid today are not just for two buildings; they demonstrate our commitment to fulfilling people’s expectations and ensuring that development reaches every village and every home. The people of Banihal-Gul have been waiting for such infrastructure for a long time, and we are determined to turn their hopes into reality.”

The MLA thanked Honorable Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his continued support and commitment to the development of Banihal-Gul. He said that the current government has adopted a people-centric approach and is ensuring that long-pending development demands receive the attention they deserve.

He further stated that several other projects related to roads, education, healthcare, tourism, power development, sports infrastructure, and urban development are in the pipeline and will further accelerate the pace of progress in the constituency.

Local residents welcomed the launch of the project and praised the government’s efforts to address the area’s long-standing development needs.

The MLA was accompanied by prominent party workers Parvez Ahmed Sheikh, Ilyas Ahmed Wani, Mukhtiar Ahmed Sheikh, Munir Ahmed Bhat, Abdul Rashid Malik, Abdul Ghani Wani, Haji Ghulam Mohammad Padhiar, Parvez Ahmed Sohil, as well as officials from the R&B, Education, and Animal Husbandry departments.
