Mohsin Naqvi asked to ‘Quit’ PCB after Pakistan’s Asia Cup shamble: Report

After he walked off with the Asia Cup 2025 trophy and did not hand it to the winning Indian team, Mohsin Naqvi has been asked to chose one position- either the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) of the Interior Minister. As per a report, Shahed Afridi .

Though Pakistan finished as the runner-ups in the Asia Cup 2025, they were thrashed thrice by the Indian side- resulting in people criticizing the team’s poor performance and the lack of vision of the PCB. According to a report by Telecom Asia Sport, questions are now being raised over Naqvi’s skills in leading the board

My request or advice to Naqvi Saheb is that you have two very important posts, and they are big jobs and need time. PCB is totally different from the interior ministry, so it must be kept separate. It would be a big decision and should be taken as soon as possible. Pakistan cricket needs special attention and time,”

Naqvi cannot rely totally on advisers. These advisers are taking him nowhere, and he himself says that he doesn’t know much about cricket. He (Naqvi) needs to appoint good and competent advisers who know about the game,” Afridi said.
