According to the new rules, driving without a driving license will attract a fine of ₹5,000. Driving without a vehicle registration certificate (RC) will attract a fine of ₹3,000 to ₹5,000.
If a person is caught driving without insurance, they will be fined ₹2,000 for the first time and ₹4,000 for a repeat violation. Riding a two-wheeler without a helmet will result in a fine of ₹1,000 and the possibility of a driver’s license being suspended.
A fine of ₹1,000 has been imposed for not wearing a seat belt in a car. Furthermore, triple riding on a bike can result in a fine of ₹1,000 and the suspension of the driver’s license.
Stricter rules have also been implemented for overspeeding. Fines for cars or light motor vehicles (LMVs) range from ₹1,000 to ₹2,000, while for heavy vehicles, the amount can range from ₹2,000 to ₹4,000.
The most stringent action will be taken for drunk driving, which carries a fine of ₹10,000 and a jail sentence.
The administration has appealed to the public to follow these rules to reduce road accidents and ensure everyone’s safety.
