Police conduct raids on hideouts of former Hurriyat activists and individuals linked to a banned organization in Shopian

Srinagar. Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday conducted extensive searches in various areas of Shopian district at the hideouts of former Hurriyat activists and individuals associated with the banned organization Jamaat-e-Islami. This operation was carried out to prevent anti-national activities and maintain law and order in the region.

According to police sources, the raids were launched simultaneously in several villages and towns in Shopian district, with security agencies thoroughly examining the homes, documents, and digital materials of former separatist leaders. The primary objective of the operation is to dismantle the separatist network and eliminate their support system.

Police clarified that the operation is being carried out to prevent any provocative activities and maintain peace in the region. The individuals whose homes were searched were previously actively associated with Hurriyat and Jamaat-e-Islami.

Security agencies said the information gathered in the operation will be analysed for further action to effectively control anti-national activities in Shopian and adjoining areas.
