In view of the upcoming Republic Day, Jammu Police have increased their security measures. As part of this, police are taking action against landlords who fail to provide police information about their tenants.
The Narwal police post has registered a case against two landlords who, despite having tenants, failed to have them police-verified. Police investigations revealed that Shakeela, a resident of Rajiv Nagar, Narwal, and Rohit Kumar, a resident of Narwal, had hired tenants without informing the police.
Police officials say that not having tenant information can pose a security threat, especially ahead of a major national event like Republic Day. Therefore, the police have clearly stated that such negligence will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Police stated that this action is not limited to the Narwal area. Police are also conducting ongoing checks in the Chhanni Himmat and Trikuta Nagar areas. In the past two days, cases have been filed against nine landlords in these areas who failed to provide police with information about their tenants.
Jammu Police have appealed to all landlords to provide timely information about any tenants living in their homes. This will prevent any untoward activity and maintain the security of the area.
The police have also appealed to the public for cooperation so that Republic Day celebrations can be held in a peaceful and safe environment.
