Preparations for the holy Amarnath Yatra 2026 are in full swing in Jammu and Kashmir. Meetings are being held regularly at the administrative level, from the Chief Secretary to district officials, to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage.

According to sources, this year’s yatra is expected to commence in the first fortnight of July, while, as per tradition, it may conclude on Raksha Bandhan (August 28th). The first puja is expected to be held on June 29th.

The registration process is expected to begin around April 15th, with pilgrims able to register through over 400 branches of major banks across the country.

Meanwhile, the application process for setting up tents, shops, and langars along the pilgrimage routes—Pahalgam and Baltal—has been completed. The administration will now allocate them through a lottery. Like every year, this time too, a large number of organizations from various states will provide langar service.
The administration claims that special arrangements are being made this time to make the pilgrimage more convenient and safe, so that the devotees coming from India and abroad do not face any kind of problem.
