A massive search operation launched in the Manjakot sector of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir following intelligence inputs about the presence of suspected terrorists continues for the sixth consecutive day. Joint teams of the Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, and other security agencies are continuously searching for terrorists in the dense forests and inaccessible mountainous terrain.
According to security agencies, the operation is being carried out strategically. Para commandos, police Special Operations Group (SOG), and paramilitary forces have been deployed in the area along with special units of the Army. The entire area has been cordoned off to prevent terrorists from escaping in any direction.
According to sources, terrorists are suspected to be hiding in the dense forests and mountainous areas of Manjakot. Modern technology is being used to combat this. Drone cameras are monitoring high-altitude and inaccessible terrain, while helicopters are also monitoring the entire area. Efforts are also underway to locate potential targets using sniffer dogs.
Officials say security forces are conducting the operation with utmost vigilance. Every activity in the forests is being monitored, and suspicious areas are being thoroughly searched. Security agencies received critical inputs regarding the presence of terrorists, prompting this large-scale operation.
Meanwhile, a high alert has been issued in neighboring Poonch district to strengthen security. Additional security forces have been deployed in border and sensitive areas, and intensive checking of people and vehicles is being conducted.
Local residents have also been urged to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity to security agencies. Currently, security forces are conducting continuous operations throughout the area, and further intensification is expected in the coming days.
