Several theft, burglary cases solved; stolen ornaments worth Rs 30 lakh recovered in Jammu’s Bishnah

Jammu: In a swift and efficient action, Bishnah Police have successfully solved a burglary case reported on 16.11.2024. The complainant, Bindu Rani, W/o Rash Paul Dingra R/o Bandrali, Bishnah filed a written report stating that while she went to attend the religious gathering, burglars broke into her house and stole golden ornaments and other items, including Mangal Sutar, bangles, Chain etc.

Based on her complaint, a case FIR No. 192/2024 U/S 331(3)/305-A BNS was registered and investigation was immediately taken up.

A special team was constituted headed by SHO PS Bishnah Inspector Sh. Sushil Choudhary under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura & SP Headquarters Jammu to apprehend the culprits

Acting on intelligence from local sources and technical inputs, the team identified and arrested one suspect involved in the crime namely Rohit Chouhan @labhu S/o Anchal Singh R/o Haria Chak Kathua. The subject during sustained questioning disclosed that he is the Kingpin of the thief gang active in the Bishnah and adjacent areas and also disclosed the name of two associates namely 1. Sahil Kumar S/o Janak Raj and 2. Vishal Kumar S/o Ranbir Raj both residents of Haria Chak, Kathua

Upon sustained questioning, the accused confessed to their involvement in the above mentioned FIR registered at Police Station Bishnah and several theft/burglary cases in Bishnah/Miran Sahib area.

  1. FIR No. 170/2024
  2. FIR No.139/2024
  3. FIR No.122/2024
  4. FIR No. 154/2024 of Police Station Bishnah and one theft of Police Station Miran Sahib in case FIR No.14/2024.

They further disclosed the location of the stolen goods & accordingly Police recovered the stolen Golden items and goods valued at 30 lakhs.

Moreover, in a different case,FIR No. 204/2024 under section 305 BNS of Police Station Bishnah, 06 number of stolen bovines have been recovered.

This recovery highlights the prompt and professional efforts of Jammu Police in ensuring justice for the victims and maintaining law and order in the region.

Further investigation into the case is ongoing.
