Staged Road Rage In Mumbai: Watch How ‘Thak Thak’ Gang Distracts Car Driver To Steal iPhone In Seconds

In broad daylight, the gang snatched the man’s iPhone from inside his car in just a few seconds, and the entire act was caught on the dashcam.
Mumbai’s notorious Thak Thak Gang is back in the headlines after they recently staged a theft near the SLR Bridge in Kurla. In broad daylight, the gang snatched the man’s iPhone from inside his car in just a few seconds. The entire act was caught on the car’s dashcam, clearly showing how the gang operates.

In the clip, one member is seen knocking on the car window to distract the driver, while another comes from the opposite side to create confusion. Taking advantage of the moment, a gang member grabs the phone and runs away before the victim can react.

Dashcam Captures Gang’s Distraction Tactics

As per Free Press Journal, the victim, identified as Saransh, wasted no time in filing an FIR at Vinoba Bhave Police Station after the theft. Police have begun an investigation and are currently scanning CCTV footage from the area to track down the gang members. Meanwhile, Mumbai Police asked drivers to be extra cautious, especially when stuck in traffic or parked in crowded spots. They have urged people not to roll down their windows or unlock their car doors if someone knocks.

In the viral clip, the victim can be heard saying that the stolen device was an iPhone 16 Pro, a special gift given to him by his father and brother. While sharing the story, he looked emotional.

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “One inch window opening should be enough. So that they can’t put their hand inside.”

Another shared, “This happened to my mother while she was driving back in 2008. This trend still continues. And Andheri police station is aware of 1000 such cases, but no action has been taken.”

“Abuse/smile and drive ahead. Simple. Stopping and arguing is not the way to be a happy driver,” a comment read.

An individual stated, “Feels like Now You See Me movie.”

Another mentioned, “This is the old trick they used, even though it happened to me a long time back in Dadar and I lost my iPhone 6s.”

One more added, “iPhone is easy to track, bro. Get to work.”

The Thak Thak Gang is known for doing similar thefts in major cities like Delhi, Meerut and Mumbai. Their method usually involves creating distractions to confuse drivers and then stealing valuables from vehicles.
