Police have arrested the accused in connection with the attempted shooting of National Conference president and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah. The accused, Kamal Singh, was produced in court, where the court remanded him to five days of police custody to allow a thorough investigation.
According to reports, the police took immediate action after the incident and detained the accused. After questioning, he was produced in court, where the police sought remand for further investigation. The court accepted the police’s arguments and remanded him to five days of police custody.
The police say that during the remand, they will interrogate the accused to determine whether he attempted to carry out the crime alone or whether someone else was involved in the conspiracy. Investigating agencies are investigating every aspect of the incident.
Former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah was attending an event when an attempt was made to shoot him. However, he narrowly escaped. Following the incident, security agencies cordoned off the area and launched an investigation.
Police officials say the investigation is ongoing and the full details of the incident will be revealed soon.
