Report:
The shooting of former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and senior leader Farooq Abdullah by an individual has created an atmosphere of concern and outrage across the state. Various political parties and social organizations have expressed strong reactions to the incident, calling it a serious threat to democracy and law and order.
Bani MLA Dr. Ameshwar strongly condemned the incident, saying that it is not only an attack on a senior leader but also raises serious questions about the state’s security system. He said that if an experienced and senior leader like Dr. Farooq Abdullah, who has served as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir three times and has made significant contributions to the country’s politics as a Member of Parliament twice, can be shot in public, it is natural to be concerned about the safety of the general public.

Dr. Ameshwar said that this incident is extremely unfortunate and calls into question the functioning of the security system. He said that maintaining peace and law and order in the state is the primary responsibility of the government and security agencies. If even such senior and important public representatives are not safe, it is natural for common citizens to feel fear and insecurity.

He demanded that the administration and security agencies conduct an impartial, transparent, and thorough investigation into the entire matter and ensure the strictest possible action against the accused under the law. He said that such incidents should not be tolerated under any circumstances and the culprits should be given exemplary punishment so that no one dares to commit such violent acts in the future.

Dr. Ameshwar further stated that Jammu and Kashmir has been facing difficult circumstances for a long time, but maintaining peace and stability in the state requires all political parties and various sections of society to work together. He also appealed to the people to maintain peace and harmony and not pay attention to any rumors.

He also stated that the people of the state have always believed in democratic values and cannot support any form of violence or anarchy. Therefore, the government should further strengthen the security system and take concrete steps to ensure the safety of both public representatives and ordinary citizens.

Following this incident, debate regarding security arrangements has intensified in the political and social circles of the state. Many leaders and organizations have also strongly condemned the incident, stating that such incidents are reprehensible in a democratic system and that the administration should take strict measures to prevent them.

Experts believe that considering the seriousness of this incident, there is a need for a comprehensive review of the security system so that recurrence of such incidents can be prevented in future and an atmosphere of peace and trust can be maintained in the state.

Court withdraws non-bailable warrant against Farooq Abdullah in JKCA ‘scam’ case Srinagar:On Thursday, a Srinagar court delivered a significant verdict in the alleged scam involving the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA), withdrawing the non-bailable warrant issued against National Conference President and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah. The court made this decision after hearing arguments from his lawyers and considering the status of the case.Indeed, the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court in Srinagar had previously issued a non-bailable warrant against Farooq Abdullah after charges were framed in the case related to alleged financial irregularities at the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA). The court stated that the accused should appear before the court. However, during the hearing on Thursday, lawyers representing Farooq Abdullah informed the court that their client was willing to cooperate in the case and had no intention of evading the judicial process. The court then ordered the recall of the warrant and set a new date for further hearing. The case relates to alleged irregularities in funds worth crores of rupees at the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association. Allegations of irregularities in the use of the association’s funds were initially investigated by the Crime Branch of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. During the investigation, several officials and office-bearers were questioned. An attempt was made to hold Farooq Abdullah, as the former president, responsible in this case, although he has previously dismissed these allegations as a political conspiracy. For now, Farooq Abdullah has received a major relief after the court withdrew the warrant, but the case related to the JKCA scam is still under judicial process and will be heard further in the future.
