ANANTNAG: In order to implement the directions of the Supreme Court of India, an orientation programme on the rights of arrested person and the role of Legal Aid Defense Counsels was organised by District legal services Authority (DLSA) Anantnag in Collaboration with District Police Administration Anantnag in conference Hall of DPO Anantnag.
The programme was organized under the supervision of the Principal District and Sessions Judge Anantng, Tahir Khurshid Raina.
On the occasion, Secretary DLSA Anantnag acted as a resource person and deliberated upon the procedure to be followed by the investigating officers at the time of arrest and in case the Investigating Officer feels arrest unnecessary, how notice can be served upon the accused as per the procedure laid down by the judgements of the apex court of India.
It was highlighted in the said orientation program that police officers need to be sensitized about the latest guidelines passed by the Honorable Apex court of India.
