Compensation for criminals, but only tears for victims’ families? It’s time to give jobs to those whose homes were destroyed by drugs

Reported by ANSH GUPTA

A gang previously involved in theft cases in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh is now allegedly being linked to drug trafficking. According to sources, Gulzar Ahmed, alias “Lau,” a member of this gang, has several previous cases registered against him.

This issue has come to light following recent action against alleged drug trafficking in the Sarur area. Meanwhile, controversy has arisen over alleged political support and a compensation of approximately ₹5 lakh (approximately ₹5 lakh).

Local residents say that providing financial assistance to the accused sends a negative message to society. Families affected by drug abuse have also raised serious questions.

Families question why no concrete assistance or compensation is provided to those whose children have lost their lives or are severely affected by drugs.

Local residents are now demanding transparency, an impartial investigation, and strict action in this entire matter. People say that on one hand the government should take strict action against crime and on the other hand the families suffering from drug addiction should also get justice and help.
