ACS Education visits Amar Singh College; reviews functioning

SRINAGAR: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Education, Shantmanu, visited the Amar Singh College.

The ACS was accompanied by Director Colleges, Professor Sheikh Ajaz Bashir.

Principal, Professor Aijaz Ahmad Hakak, presented a comprehensive presentation on the academic, administrative and developmental progress of the institution besides its future vision plan.

During his visit, Shantmanu had a detailed review of the college’s academic performance, enrolment trends, gender parity, student-faculty ratio and infrastructural development. He also inspected the newly constructed state-of-the-art Science Block and the fully automated college library, equipped with RFID technology.

The college librarian demonstrated the automated system, showcasing searching, issuance and return of books efficiently through the RFID system.

Interacting with the Principal and faculty members, Shantmanu emphasised the importance of competency-building for personal excellence. He highlighted key areas such as role of the Art of Living in professional growth, drug de-addiction initiatives and mental health support for students.

The visit concluded with the ACS reiterating the commitment of the Higher Education Department towards fostering academic excellence and holistic student development in the region.
