Awareness programme under Dharti Abha Janjatiya Utkarsh Abhiyan held at Manzgam

KULGAM: In a significant initiative aimed at empowering tribal communities and fostering sustainable development, an awareness programme ‘Dharti Abha Janjatiya Utkarsh Abhiyan’ was successfully conducted in Manzgam today.

The event focused on raising awareness regarding welfare and development programs for tribal populations and environmental conservation. It attracted a substantial number of tribal residents, along with prominent figures from various sectors.

DDC Member Manzgam, Choudhary Jameela was the chief guest on the occasion. She underscored the importance of community involvement in achieving long-term socio-economic development for tribal communities and promoting sustainable environmental practices.

The District Social Welfare Officer Kulgam emphasized that tribal areas have historically been neglected and assured the community that all government benefits would be promptly extended to these regions.

This initiative is part of a broader movement to uplift tribal areas, addressing critical gaps in social infrastructure, health, education, and livelihood in such villages.
Key objectives include improving housing conditions, promoting economic empowerment, enhancing educational access, and ensuring better healthcare services for tribal populations.
Throughout the day, various activities were organized, including awareness programmes, interactive sessions and sports activities.

Educational kits were also distributed to meritorious tribal girls during the event.
The event concluded with a call to action for all community members to actively engage in government efforts aimed at the development of tribal areas.
