Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Meets Public Representatives; Issues Key Directives on Development Works

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met with seven MLAs from various constituencies at the Civil Secretariat on Tuesday. He held detailed discussions regarding the development needs of their areas, public grievances, and issues concerning public welfare. The Chief Minister assured them that all matters raised would be seriously considered and resolved in a time-bound manner.

The MLAs who met the Chief Minister included Iftikhar Ahmed (Rajouri), Rafiq Ahmed Naik (Tral), Justice (Retd.) Hasnain Masoodi (Pampore), Javed Riyaz Bedar (Pattan), Khurshid Ahmed Sheikh (Langate), Arjun Singh Raju (Ramban), and Ghulam Ahmed Mir (Dooru). During the meeting, the MLAs apprised the Chief Minister of the status of development works in their respective constituencies, the need for basic amenities, and various public-related issues.

Special discussions were held regarding sectors such as roads, health, education, drinking water, electricity, and other infrastructure facilities. The public representatives emphasized the need to expedite development works and complete several pending projects promptly. They also sought the government’s necessary support to provide better facilities to the people at the local level.

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah listened attentively to all the MLAs and stated that the government is fully committed to the holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir and the resolution of public grievances. He remarked that the issues raised by public representatives are directly linked to the expectations and needs of the people; therefore, action on these matters would be ensured on a priority basis.

The Chief Minister directed the concerned departments to conduct a detailed review of the matters raised by the MLAs and to prepare a time-bound action plan for projects or issues requiring resolution. He further stated that the progress of development works would be continuously monitored to ensure that the public receives the benefits of these schemes in a timely manner.

The current status of various development projects was also reviewed during the meeting. The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring balanced and inclusive development across all regions of the state and stated that no laxity would be tolerated in addressing public grievances.

This meeting, held at the Civil Secretariat, is being viewed as a significant initiative aimed at fostering better coordination between the government and public representatives and accelerating development activities at the grassroots level. The Chief Minister assured that prompt and effective solutions would be ensured for all issues concerning the public interest.
