DDC reviews implementation of FPO Scheme in Doda District

DODA: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Harvinder Singh today chaired a meeting of the District-Level Monitoring Committee to review the progress of the Central Sector Scheme for the formation and promotion of 10,000 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Manesh Kumar; DDM NABARD Rakesh Kumar and representatives from other implementing agencies, including NCDC, SFAC, NAFED, and FDRVC, along with Cluster-Based Business Organizations.


The progress of FPOs operating in the district was reviewed in detail. Discussions focused on the number of shareholders, the status of equity grants and the paid-up capital of these organizations.


The DDC emphasised the need for effective coordination between implementing agencies and stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of the scheme and maximize benefits for farmers.


The DDC directed concerned officials to expedite the formation and strengthening of FPOs, ensuring their sustainability and market linkage. He also stressed capacity-building measures and financial support mechanisms to enhance the economic viability of farmer collectives.
