Jammu and Kashmir Police, as part of their ongoing campaign against drug trafficking, carried out a major operation in Ganderbal district, arresting a notorious drug trafficker and sending him to Bhaderwah District Jail. This action is being considered a significant step against the drug mafia operating in the area.
According to police officials, the accused was taken into custody after receiving a formal detention order issued by the competent authority under the PIT NDPS Act. The arrested drug trafficker has been identified as Fayaz Ahmed Khanday, a resident of Pati Shalbug, Ganderbal. According to police records, the accused had been involved in the illegal drug trade for a long time and was luring young people in the area into the trap of drug addiction.
Investigating agencies say that the accused was not only involved in drug trafficking but also targeted local youth, ruining their futures. After arresting the accused, the police completed the necessary legal procedures and detained him in the district jail in Bhaderwah.
Ganderbal Police stated that a continuous campaign is being launched to eradicate the drug trade in the district. The police’s objective is to protect youth from the ill effects of drug abuse and to make society drug-free. Officials clarified that no one involved in drug trafficking will be spared and strict legal action will continue against such elements.
The police have also appealed to the general public for cooperation. They have been asked to immediately inform the police if they become aware of any drug trafficking or suspicious activity around them. The police believe that only through joint efforts of society and the administration can this deadly drug network be completely eradicated.
This action in Ganderbal once again sends the message that the Jammu and Kashmir Police is intensifying its campaign against drug abuse and taking every possible step to secure the future of the youth.
