The Central Government has intensified preparations to ensure the safety of the Amarnath Yatra, which begins on July 3. Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a high-level meeting regarding the pilgrimage’s security arrangements and issued necessary directives to officials.
It was decided during the meeting that drones, CCTV cameras, and other modern technologies would be deployed along the pilgrimage route to monitor all activities. Additionally, the police, Army, and paramilitary forces will jointly manage the security apparatus.
Amit Shah stated that the safety of the pilgrims is the government’s top priority. He instructed officials to ensure that pilgrims face no difficulties during the journey.
Special attention will also be paid to the registration of individuals and animals associated with the pilgrimage. Emphasis was placed on a plan to link identity cards with QR codes.
Arrangements regarding pilgrim accommodation, healthcare facilities, disaster management, and other essentials were also reviewed during the meeting. Officials were directed to maintain robust security along the pilgrimage route and at key tourist locations.
It is noteworthy that this year’s Amarnath Yatra will commence on July 3 and continue until August 28. The administration asserts that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure a safe and convenient journey for the pilgrims.
