What is this relationship called?

A smiling meeting between the ruling party and the opposition raises a question: “Is something cooking?”

Jammu and Kashmir politics typically features bitter rhetoric, accusations, and open confrontation between the ruling party and the opposition. Both sides are constantly vocal against each other on public platforms. But amid this political backdrop, a video that has surfaced is now sparking a new debate.

In the video, National Conference Deputy Chief Minister Surendra Choudhary and BJP MLA and party spokesperson Ranbir Singh Pathania are seen meeting suddenly outside. There is no formal meeting, no stage—just a conversation and a broad smile on their faces. This smile is now under question.

The public is asking—
When political battles continue daily,
When statements are harsh,
When accusations of anti-people behavior are leveled against each other,
Why is there such sudden cordiality?

People on social media are sarcastically saying, “Everyone knows that there’s always fighting in politics.

But when there’s a fight going on, why such a smile?”

Some are calling it a courtesy, while others are considering it a political signal. Questions are also being raised: is there a secret understanding being reached between the ruling party and the opposition on some issue? Is some political conspiracy brewing, which the public is being kept in the dark about?

Local residents say that ordinary citizens get into arguments with each other in the name of party ideologies. Debates spill over into friendships and relationships. In such a situation, the public is asking:

Are we left to fight, and understanding is reserved only for politicians?

According to political analysts, informal meetings are part of politics, but when such meetings become public and are accompanied by unusual ease, questions are bound to arise.

So far, neither the ruling party nor the opposition has issued a clear explanation regarding this video. People are raising questions about this silence:

Is this silence merely a coincidence, or a preparation for a major political equation?

The key point is that the budget session of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly is scheduled for February.

Ahead of such a session, people are not ready to dismiss any informal conversation between the ruling party and the opposition as a routine meeting. The question is: is this meeting an attempt to defuse the atmosphere before the upcoming budget session, or is it the beginning of a strategic understanding?

Whether this video is a sign of a compromise or just a routine meeting—

Only time will tell.

But the public still wants to know:

“If fighting is normal,
then why is a smile so special?”

And with this question, Jammu and Kashmir politics is once again resonating:

What is this relationship called?
