The government appears to be actively working to accelerate industrial development in Jammu and Kashmir. Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary has clarified that policies will be improved to promote industries in the state, and ease of doing business will be prioritized to provide a better environment for investors.
In a meeting with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu at the Secretariat on Friday, the Deputy Chief Minister discussed the current challenges facing the industrial sector. He stated that the government is developing a robust mechanism to restructure incentive schemes, simplify procedures, and restart loss-making industrial units.
During the meeting, Chamber President Arun Gupta and Treasurer Rajesh Gupta detailed the problems facing industries. They raised demands for uninterrupted power and water supply, improved road connectivity, and strengthening infrastructure in industrial areas. The Deputy Chief Minister assured them that the government is taking timely and effective steps to address these issues.
The Deputy Chief Minister also stated that the government’s primary focus is to create a conducive environment that increases employment opportunities for local youth. Skill development was also highlighted as crucial in this direction, ensuring that the state’s youth can find greater employment in industries.
These government efforts are expected to increase investment in Jammu and Kashmir in the future and strengthen the industrial sector.
