A heartbreaking road accident occurred in Jammu’s Gangyal Industrial Area on Tuesday afternoon, shattering a family’s joy in an instant. A speeding truck crushed a couple riding a bike, killing them on the spot, while their son was seriously injured.

According to reports, Balkrishna (45), originally from Chhattarpur, Madhya Pradesh, lived in Gangyal’s Model Town area with his wife, Anita (40), and son. On Tuesday, the three were returning to work on their bike after lunch.

As they approached a turn under the flyover near ICICI Bank on the Digyana-Kunjwani road, a speeding truck coming from behind hit their bike. The collision was so severe that the son riding the bike was thrown away and injured, while Balkrishna and Anita were hit by the truck and died tragically on the spot.
On receiving information about the accident, Gangyal police and traffic police immediately reached the spot. Both bodies were taken into custody and sent to GMC for post-mortem, where they were later handed over to the family members.
Taking action, the police have arrested the truck driver, registered a case against him and initiated an investigation.
After this tragic accident, a wave of mourning has spread across the entire area, and local people are demanding strict control of speeding vehicles from the administration.
