The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday took a major action as part of its campaign against corruption, arresting a Forest Guard (Accountant) posted in the Marwah Forest Division red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹15,000.
According to ACB officials, a complaint was received against the accused employee for demanding a bribe. Following the complaint, the ACB conducted a preliminary investigation and, upon verifying the facts of the complaint, planned a special trap operation.
As part of the plan, the ACB team laid a trap and caught the accused employee red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹15,000 from the complainant. The entire bribe amount was recovered from the accused’s possession during the operation.
Following the arrest, the ACB has registered a case against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Officials say that a thorough investigation is being conducted into all aspects of the case, and necessary legal action will be taken based on the findings.
The ACB reiterated that corruption in government departments will not be tolerated under any circumstances and strict action will continue to be taken against officials and employees found involved in corruption.
