MVD Baramulla Cracks Down on Traffic Violators, Seizes 13 Vehicles, realizes fine ₹38K

BARAMULLA: In a decisive move to enhance road safety and enforce traffic regulations, the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Baramulla, headed by ARTO Baramulla Muazzam Ali, conducted an intensive two-day enforcement drive across key locations in the district. The crackdown resulted in realisation of Rs 38,000 in fines and the seizure of 13 vehicles operating with expired fitness certificates and permits.


The enforcement teams targeted major traffic violations, including over speeding, reckless driving, overloading, improper documentation, and non-compliance with seat belt and helmet rules. Vehicles lacking Speed Limiting Devices (SLDs) were also penalized as part of the strict measures.


ARTO Muazzam Ali said the drive aimed to instill discipline among motorists and reduce road accidents. He emphasized that strict enforcement would continue to ensure compliance with traffic laws and improve overall road safety. He further stated that similar drives would be conducted regularly, focusing on ensuring that all vehicles meet fitness and safety standards.
