To ensure the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026 is safe and well-organized, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has equipped its security arrangements with state-of-the-art technology. Jammu’s Integrated Command and Control Center will serve as the hub for security monitoring during the pilgrimage, keeping a round-the-clock watch on the yatra route, base camps, and sensitive areas of the city.
According to officials, teams from the district police, traffic police, and the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) will operate from this centralized location. This setup will facilitate immediate coordination between various departments, enabling rapid responses to any emergency situation.
Continuous monitoring of all activities will be conducted using over 610 CCTV and PTZ cameras installed under the Jammu Smart City Mission. Security agencies will keep an eye out for suspicious activities, while the traffic police will manage special arrangements to keep the yatra route free from traffic congestion.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation has been entrusted with the responsibility of providing improved amenities to pilgrims, covering sanitation, sewerage, parking, transport, and other civic services. Additionally, the JMC’s toll-free helpline number (18001807207), the ‘My Jammu’ mobile app, and the official website will be available for any assistance required.
The administration states that the combination of modern technology, real-time surveillance, and inter-departmental coordination will make this year’s Amarnath Yatra safer, more organized, and more convenient for pilgrims compared to previous years.
