Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah met with seven MLAs from various assembly constituencies at the Civil Secretariat on Tuesday and discussed in detail the development needs, public problems, and public welfare issues in their constituencies. The Chief Minister assured serious consideration of all issues raised by the representatives and their timely resolution.
MLAs Iftikhar Ahmed (Rajouri), Rafiq Ahmed Naik (Tral), Justice (Retd.) Hasnain Masoodi (Pampore), Javed Riaz Bedar (Pattan), Khurshid Ahmed Sheikh (Langate), Arjun Singh Raju (Ramban), and Ghulam Ahmed Mir (Dooru) met with the Chief Minister. The MLAs raised the status of development works in their respective constituencies, the need for basic amenities, and various public issues.
Issues related to roads, health, education, drinking water, electricity, and other basic amenities were discussed in detail during the meeting. The public representatives stressed the need to expedite the completion of several pending projects and accelerate development work. They also sought the government’s necessary support to provide better facilities to the people at the regional level.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah listened carefully to all the MLAs and stated that the government is fully committed to the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir and the resolution of public problems. He stated that the issues raised by the public representatives are directly related to the expectations and needs of the people, and therefore, they will be addressed on a priority basis.
The Chief Minister directed the concerned departments to conduct a detailed review of the issues raised by the MLAs and prepare a time-bound action plan for projects or problems that require resolution. He also stated that the progress of development works will be continuously monitored so that people can receive the benefits of the schemes in a timely manner.
The current status of various development projects was also reviewed during the meeting. The Chief Minister reiterated that the government is committed to ensuring balanced and inclusive development in all regions of the state and that no laxity will be tolerated in addressing public problems.
This meeting, held at the Civil Secretariat, is considered an important initiative toward establishing better coordination between the government and public representatives and accelerating development work at the grassroots level. The Chief Minister assured that all issues related to public interests will be resolved promptly and effectively.
