Samba: Intensifying its drive against narcotics smugglers/suppliers, J&K Police has arrested three notorious drug peddlers including two ladies, all residents of Rakh Barotian Vijaypur and recovered approximately 21 grams heroin, four mobile phones, one weighing machine and cash amounting to Rs 38,770.00 in the jurisdiction of Police Station Vijaypur district Samba.
A Police party of Police Station Vijaypur headed by SHO PS Vijaypur under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur and under overall supervision of SSP Samba during special vehicle checking naka near Rakh Barotian Vijaypur, intercepted a bike without registration no. coming from Rakh Barotian side and moving towards Vijaypur for checking. During checking, approx. 11.43 grams of heroin like substance, 04 mobile phones, one weighing machine and cash of rupees 24630/- have been recovered from the possession of bike rider and lady pillion rider.
The accused identified as Bhag Ali @Ashiq Ali S/o Gau and Meenu D/o Gau both resident of Rakh Barotian tehsil Vijaypur district Samba have been arrested and the contraband item alongwith other items recovered on the spot have been seized.
The arrested accused happens to be brother and sister who are involved in illegal narcotics trade and are operating in the Vijaypur area. Both are used to supply drugs to the addicts in the region.
A case FIR No. 155/2024 U/S 8/21/22/27-A/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur and investigation started.
Similarly, in an another operation against narcotic smugglers, a female drug peddler namely Roshan Bibi Lalu Alu W/o Lal Hussain R/o Rakh Barotian Vijaypur has been arrested with approximately 8.90 grams heroin and also recovered cash of rupees 14,140/- from her possession by Police team of Police Station Vijaypur during special naka near Rakh Barotian Vijaypur.
A case FIR No. 156/2024 U/S 8/21/22/27-A NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur and investigation started.
SSP Samba said that police is taking strong action against those involved in narco-trade in the district and stringent legal action are being taken to deal with them.
